Bennet Kelley is one of the nation's leading Internet lawyers and is the Founder of the Internet Law Center.   His experience includes:

  • Over 15 years of broad-based corporate, technology, IP and litigation experience;

  • Writing, testifying, lobbying, litigating and/or presenting on cutting edge issues such as spam, spyware, keyword search liability and net neutrality.

BIOGRAPHY

Bennet Kelley launched the Internet Law Center in September 2007 after four years with ValueClick, where he was Assistant General Counsel, Director of Governmental Affairs & Privacy and Vice President of Legal & Strategic Affairs for the online advertising and e-commerce company's Hi-Speed Media subsidiary.

Bennet also served as General Counsel of ETM Entertainment Network, which was the second largest live event ticketing company in the U.S., and as Vice President of Business, Legal and Governmental Affairs for Network Commerce, an internet technology infrastructure and services company, where he also was division counsel for its SpeedyClick.com division.   Bennet began his legal career with Howrey & Simon, one of the nation's premier antitrust, intellectual property and litigation firms.

Bennet currently is a co-chair of the Legislative Subcommittee of the California State Bar's Cyberspace Committee and a regular contributor to the Journal of Internet Law. Bennet graduated from Georgetown University Law Center magna cum laude in 1990 and received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from The American University in 1984.   He is admitted in California, the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Prior to starting his legal career, Bennet worked in the lobbying and governmental affairs practice of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan.   He has extensive political experience that includes serving as National Co-Chair of the Democratic National Committee's Saxophone Club (its young professional fundraising and outreach arm) during the Clinton era and being an award winning political columnist.
